68th edition of the Shediac Lobster Festival

My Community… My Festival!

Shediac, May 17, 2017 - It is with great enthusiasm that the Co-Presidents of the Shediac Lobster Festival Inc., Mr. Edgar LeBlanc and Mr. Jacques LeBlanc, unveil today the schedule of events that will be taking place as part of the 68th edition of the Shediac Lobster Festival, which will run from July 5-9, 2017 in Shediac.

Once again this year, every effort has been made to ensure the 2017 Shediac Lobster Festival will be a highly colourful event that people will not soon forget. The Organizing Committee has worked relentlessly to offer a program that appeals to the entire family.    

Year after year, the Town of Shediac continues to enjoy tremendous success thanks to a program that meets the needs of citizens and visitors alike, says Jacques LeBlanc, Mayor of Shediac and Festival Co-President. The 2017 edition will offer a programming that is even more diversified than in previous years thanks mainly to outstanding teamwork and the addition of new financial partners who contribute to the Shediac Lobster Festival’s success.” 

Performances by numerous artists and actors

Numerous well-known artists will take the stage as part of the Festival, including Sweet Temptation, Angry Candy, Rosa Laricchuita, Andy Bastarache, Wild Pitch and Big Bad Party Band. The Festival will also feature Three Bob Night, Ti-Blanc Morin, Liz and Ben, Good Time, Tina Gautreau, Zack Lane, Paul Wilfred and Norm The Jammer.


The Festival will also feature a performance by Frank Williams, the local singer who made it through to the finals in the previous edition of La Voix. This performance will take place as part of the beer garden for those aged 19 years and over. It should be noted that the price of admission to the Festival, i.e. $8 daily, gives access to the musical performances planned for the day.


New for this year is a bluegrass evening featuring Blue Grass Diamond and Simply Blue led by well-known host Bouboul.


The Lobster Festival will also celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation with a concert featuring Jacques Comeau, Jean and Félix Belliveau and Réveil.


Other actors and artists will also share in the celebrations during the 68th edition of the Lobster Festival, including the Circus Stella, hypnotist Jason Cyrus, magician Rémi Boudreau, Baton Atlantik, Dance Envy and Chaos Dance, Féeli Tout, M. Crapeau, Art Richard and Éric Chiasson. Face painter Melissa LeGresley will also be on hand.


Also keep an eye out for the very popular lobster-eating contest, the children’s parade and its new addition this year, Paint Night. As always, Campbell Amusements will return with its famous rides.

Downtown Main Street Community Lobster Dinner 

For the fourth consecutive year, the longest lobster dinner will be served on Sunday, July 9 at 5 p.m. 1,000 lobsters will be served to 1,000 people sitting at a 1,000-ft. long table in the heart of downtown Shediac. Tickets are limited, so don’t miss out!

A lobster roll measuring over 106 ft. and 4 inches!!!

To celebrate the 68th edition of the Lobster Festival, the Greater Shediac Chamber of Commerce will attempt to beat our world record by preparing a lobster roll measuring over 106 ft. and 4 inches. Join us and enjoy!


Ales & Tails and Corks & Claws

Once again this year, Ales & Tails will be a great addition to the Lobster Festival’s programming, offering local beer paired with seafood tastings. A fun-filled evening with various activities awaits you! The event will take place Friday, July 7 at 7 p.m.


Having achieved amazing success these past two years, Corks & Claws is back in 2017. The event has been a very welcome addition to the Lobster Festival’s programming. Come taste different wines and culinary lobster creations prepared by our chefs and local restaurants. Another fun-filled evening! The event will take place Saturday, July 8 at 7 p.m.


Tickets for these two events are limited, so hurry!
