The Shediac Lobster Festival Named a "Signature Event" by the Province of New Brunswick

Shediac, NB, June 18, 2025 -

The Shediac Lobster Festival has been added to the prestigious list of Signature Events of the Province of New Brunswick, alongside seven other iconic festivals and events. This recognition highlights the commitment to offering some of the best cultural and gastronomic experiences in the region.

“We are extremely proud of our famous festival,” says Roger Caissie, Mayor of the Town of Shediac. “Every year, many visitors choose to spend their vacations in July to participate in our must-attend family event. Shediac is renowned for its lobster, beautiful beaches, and unique hospitality, which enriches this list of exceptional experiences in the province.”

In 2024, the Lobster Festival’s 75th anniversary edition attracted nearly 40,000 festival-goers during its ten days of celebration. “The 2024 edition was a record year for us,” emphasizes François Poirier, President of the Shediac Lobster Festival. “Our team worked tirelessly to deliver a memorable edition, and we succeeded! Although we anticipate a more 'normal' attendance this year, we have prepared a program that continues to showcase our culinary identity, with classics like Corks & Claws, La Grande Table, and the Lobster Roll Challenge, as well as new culinary event offerings that we are particularly proud of. This aligns perfectly with our strategic plan to strengthen our position as a leading culinary festival.”
