As a festival Assistant Coordinator for the Shediac Lobster Festival, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for contributing to the success and smooth running of this iconic event. You will have the opportunity to participate in various aspects of the festival while gaining practical experience in the field of event management.
Main Responsibilities:
Marketing and Promotional Support:

Contribute to the development and implementation of the festival's marketing strategy: planning promotional campaigns, managing digital presence and social media, coordinating communications, and analyzing performance to maximize the event's visibility and reach.
Administrative Support:

Assist in document preparation, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks as needed
Secondary Responsibilities:
Logistical Support:

Assist in setting up installations for festival events.

Support the logistics team in coordinating necessary resources and materials.
Event Assistance:

Participate in managing activities during the festival by providing support to organizers.

Welcome participants, address inquiries, and ensure an enjoyable experience for visitors.
Versatility and Adaptability:

Be ready to assist in various areas according to the changing needs of the festival.

Be flexible and collaborative within the team to ensure the smooth running of the event.
Qualifications:

Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;

Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);

Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11 or 12 in September 2026; OR
-
Be a full-time grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2025-2026 AND be attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2026.

Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license and must have their own means of transportation.

Must be bilingual, with good written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.

Strong command of social media platforms and proven marketing skills.

Must demonstrate initiative, be motivated, possess decision-making skills, and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure during events.

Availability to work flexible hours during the festival duration.
Work Hours
April 27th to July 17th (12 weeks)
Thirty-five (35) hours per week. Variable hours.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Salary based on experience
