As a festival Assistant Coordinator for the Shediac Lobster Festival, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for contributing to the success and smooth running of this iconic event. You will have the opportunity to participate in various aspects of the festival while gaining practical experience in the field of event management.

Responsibilities:

Logistical Support:

Assist in setting up installations for festival events.

Support the logistics team in coordinating necessary resources and materials.

Event Assistance:

Participate in managing activities during the festival by providing support to organizers.

Welcome participants, address inquiries, and ensure an enjoyable experience for visitors.

Administrative Support:

Assist in document preparation, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Marketing and Promotional Support:

Contribute to promoting the festival by distributing flyers, assisting on social media, or participating in awareness initiatives.

Versatility and Adaptability:

Be ready to assist in various areas according to the changing needs of the festival.

Be flexible and collaborative within the team to ensure the smooth running of the event.

Qualifications:
-
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
-
Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
-
Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license and must have their own means of transportation.

Must be bilingual, with good written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.

Must demonstrate initiative, be motivated, possess decision-making skills, and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Good knowledge of social media.

Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure during events.

Availability to work flexible hours during the festival duration.

Work Hours
June 10th to July 18th (6 weeks)
$16 per hour. Thirty-five (35) hours per week. Variable hours.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends
