About the event
Jacques Surette is a young singer-songwriter from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, who captivates and intrigues with his natural talent. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and started composing his own songs at 14. His father, the renowned musician Éric Surette, inspired him to pursue music, but Jacques is entirely self-taught. He initially wrote some songs in English but quickly realized that he wanted to express himself in music primarily in French. Over the past few years, this young artist has garnered a lot of interest with his simple and touching songs. Accompanied by a guitar, sometimes harmonica, banjo, or keyboard, he writes lyrics that take listeners on a journey through his corner of the country.
